EcoTrains is a not-for-profit organisation SPONSORING RESEARCH and building ECO- RAILWAY LINE PROTOTYPES on our land, in pursuit of reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions. At our core is the intention to help transform railway systems from being major polluters into a key component in the battle against climate change. What the world owes a 16 year old student is beyond evaluation. We have been working on this ecotrains project since 2012. Steady progress has been made.

For example:-

One of our supporters is making a £3,000 bursary for a Ph.D student to research and study the wind-turbine powered electric train initiative and the effect a major rollout on an international level would have on climate change.

Our core support network has already raised £50,000 on a matched-funding basis to a £100,000 target to purchase a suitable (former) railway line track bed in order to build a “proof of concept” real-world ecotrain for testing and study. The expresion of “parking your tank on the opponents lawn” can be papraphrased in that we will be parking our eco locomotive on the lawn of climate change deniers.

The past 7 years here at ecotrains has been hard work and slow. But many of us owe a debt of gratitude to Greta Thunberg and her capturing the world imagination as to the extent of the ecological crisis headed this way. We have seen a boost in our own project. Interest in the proposals on our website and the real-world changes we can make to help stop this crisis has been tangible. Our wind-turbine powered train and zero pollution systems are much closer now. Thank you Greta.

Thanks to the awakening to climate change this remarkable human being has brought about, our small project is firmly on the way to developing a protocol that can remove vast amounts of pollution from the transport and eco systems.

We have been overwhelmed by the support from around the time Greta started her journey as one person on a mission.

Greta, in reciprocation we can promise you our best efforts to avoid your generation being literally drowned away to extinction by the climate change crisis.

If we have anything to do with this, the repair to the planet’s eco-system will happen.

Massive Pollution Can Be Reversed & Within 10 Years

Item number (4) TRANSMISSION INFRASTRUCTURE is remarkably simple…

Overhead Railway/Railroad Electrification. Not That Difficult.

This fourth element (4) of overhead railroad electrification is already on a constant rollout programme. This needs to be speeded up. There are tens of thousands of miles of railroads without these cables.

Railroads with no overhead electrification require massive pollution diesel engines to work.

Ironically these diesel freight trains are a comparatively ecological way of moving the vast amount of containers around the world.

However, if we can change ALL of the diesel locomotives to electric trains and build a wind-turbine every few miles in parallel to all railway tracks that are viable for wind generators and underground connection systems from out-of-town windfarms to inner-city railway systems, this will impact positively on halting the climate change.

All governments shall need to encourage massive amounts of road and air freight (90%) from road and air to electric railroad systems. If the summary on this single webpage introduction can be achieved, the view of this website’s subscribers is that…
